SPCA of Texas Offers Free Adoptions of Adult Dogs for Military Personnel, 50% Off Adoptions of Adult Dogs and $10 Adoptions of VIP Dogs for All This Weekend

WHAT:   In honor of Memorial Day, the SPCA of Texas is offering free adoptions of adult dogs to military personnel (with military ID). The SPCA of Texas is also offering adoption specials to all, including $10 adoptions on all VIP dogs (those who have been up for adoption for 30 days or more) and 50% off adoption fees for all adult dogs this weekend. The specials will be available from Friday, May 22 through Sunday, May 24 at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive in Dallas and the Russell H. Perry Animal Care Center at 8411 Stacy Road in McKinney. The shelters are open from noon to 6 p.m.

COST:  Adoption fees are regularly $75-125 for adult dogs (6 months to 6 years) and $50 for senior dogs (7 years or older) or VIP dogs. All adoptions at the SPCA of Texas include a spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older, initial heartworm preventative for dogs, a feline leukemia and FIV test for cats four months and older, a microchip, a rabies tag, a free bag of food, one post-adoption health check-up within 14 days of adoption, 30 days of pet health insurance and a temporary leash or cat carrier.
