North Texas Link Coalition Quarterly Training
Understanding the Nature of Animal Hoarding

Friday, July 12, 2019 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Animal hoarding is a problem that affects all communities regardless of socioeconomic demographics. This training is designed to help many different types of responders gain a better understanding of the nature of animal hoarding, the differences and similarities of animal and material hoarding, and learn what leads individuals to become animal hoarders so that local communities can come together to better address the issue. Best practices and available resources for affected individuals will also be discussed so that participants will know how their particular skillset can be used to improve the human and animal lives involved.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
