The SPCA of Texas Presents the 25th Annual Home for the Holidays Event at NorthPark Center
November 16 - December 23, 2015

Selection and Celebration of the Winners of the Bark + Build Doghouse Design/Build Competition and Housewarming Kick-Off to Take Place November 16 and 17

The SPCA of Texas is thrilled to present the 25th annual Home for the Holidays event at NorthPark Center from November 16 through December 23, 2015. This signature event brings shoppers and pet lovers together to raise awareness for homeless pets, and to help these wonderful animals find a forever, loving family.

Home for the Holidays will kick off November 16, with the installation of eighteen custom-made dog houses at NorthPark Center on Level One between Dillard's and Macy's that will be raffled off through December 7. These one-of-a-kind dog houses were designed and built by Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Dallas) and TEXO Commercial Contractors Association members. Raffle tickets will be $5 a piece or five raffle tickets for $20, and will be available at NorthPark Center and at www.spca.org/homefortheholidays2015 beginning November 16. The drawings to select the winner of each dog house will be held at the close of the event on December 8, and one of the dog houses will be named “Top Dog” as the most popular based on ticket sales.

AIA Dallas and TEXO Association's first annual Bark + Build Doghouse Design/Build Competition to benefit the SPCA of Texas' Home for the Holidays event is wrapping up now, as all designers and builders are putting the finishing touches on their entries. All entries will be judged on both design and construction quality by a jury panel, with various award categories, on Monday, November 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at NorthPark Center. The Housewarming Kick-off for Home for the Holidays 2015 will take place on Tuesday, November 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nespresso in NorthPark Center. The Bark + Build awards presentation will take place at 7 p.m. during the kick-off event.

The Home for the Holidays Adoption Pavilion, located on Level One between Macy's and Dillard's, will open on Black Friday, November 27, and run through Wednesday, December 23. The SPCA of Texas will feature adoptable cats and dogs at NorthPark Center every day from noon to 6 p.m. with the hope that over 250 animals will find their forever homes this holiday season. Since the SPCA of Texas' first year of Home for the Holidays in 1990, over 10,000 pets have been adopted. Children who came with their parents and adopted a pet, are now coming back as adults with their families and adopting again. This event is a holiday tradition for many families here in North Texas.

The SPCA of Texas is grateful to NorthPark Center, AIA Dallas and TEXO Association for their generous support, creativity and friendship.

We sincerely thank our special partners, including Bronze Bone Sponsors: Banfield Pet Hospital and North Texas Cheddarheads; Dog House Sponsors: Dr. Larry and Mrs. Joan Rogers of Dallas, Kroger and Katy Trail Animal Hospital; and In-Kind Sponsors: PepsiCo, Dickies, Nespresso and SAM Store and Move.

All money raised will go towards the SPCA of Texas' important mission to rescue, heal, and find loving homes for vulnerable animals.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
