This Weekend:
SPCA of Texas To Raise Money for Mary Spencer Clinic at Village Fair and to Support the Efforts of the Southern Dallas Spay/Neuter and Wellness Initiative

WHAT: The SPCA of Texas' Paws Cause 2019 will be held this Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center. The evening is a food and animal lover's dream, featuring wonderful food from local chefs from several of the Metroplex's finest restaurants. Guests will also enjoy drinks, musical entertainment by GOGA and the always popular Bone Appétit restaurant drawing, which will feature new gift cards this year thanks to the Best of Guide.

All money raised will go directly to support the SPCA of Texas' Mary Spencer Clinic at Village Fair and to support the efforts of the Southern Dallas Spay/Neuter and Wellness Initiative, which serves 23 Southern Dallas zip codes. The programs in this initiative were created to address the serious loose animal problem in Dallas.

The SPCA of Texas will also present the 2019 Mary Spencer Humanitarian Award to Bobbi Snyder that evening. Named for animal advocate extraordinaire Mary Spencer, the award honors individuals and organizations that have made a significant difference in the lives of animals in North Texas. For nearly 20 years, Bobbi Snyder's giving nature has touched the lives of thousands of North Texans and their pets, and she was one of the first supporters of the organization's Southern Dallas Initiative.

Paws Cause 2019 is sure to be a tail-wagging success thanks to Honorary Chair Ann Horton Marcus, Chair Susie Swanson, Bone Appétit Chair Giana dePaul and the Host and Event Committees.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
