Enjoy Food, Fun and Fur While Helping Pets and Their Owners Living in Southern Dallas

SPCA of Texas' Paws Cause 2019 is on January 27, 2019

(DALLAS, TX); January 14, 2019– Enjoy local food, fun and fur at the SPCA of Texas' Paws Cause 2019! The fun-filled evening is a food and animal lover's dream, featuring wonderful food from local chefs from several of the Metroplex's finest restaurants, including 3015 at Trinity Groves, Komali Restaurant, Parigi, Pink Magnolia, Salum and Whistle Britches. Plus, it's all for a good cause! The event benefits the Southern Dallas Spay/Neuter and Wellness Initiative, which serves 23 Southern Dallas zip codes, and the SPCA of Texas’ Mary Spencer Clinic at Village Fair.

Guests will also enjoy drinks, musical entertainment by GOGA and hanging out with dogs and cats at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, TX 75212 on January 27, 2019 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are limited, and can be purchased online at www.pawscausedallas.com.

The SPCA of Texas will also present the 2018 Mary Spencer Humanitarian Award to Bobbi Snyder that evening. Named for animal advocate extraordinaire Mary Spencer, the award honors individuals and organizations that have made a significant difference in the lives of animals in North Texas. For nearly 20 years, Bobbi Snyder's giving nature has touched the lives of thousands of North Texans and their pets, and she was one of the first supporters of the organization's Southern Dallas Initiative.

Bobbi Snyder and the Snyder Foundation have been constant supporters of the SPCA of Texas, and they're bringing back the Match Maker Challenge for Paws Cause 2019! After raising $135,000 at last year’s event, they’re asking all Paws Cause supporters to donate in support of the Southern Dallas Wellness Initiative and Mary Spencer Clinic, and they will generously match all donations up to $100,000! The SPCA of Texas couldn't do this without your help. Get a head start on the challenge and donate now to help us reach this goal!

All money raised at Paws Cause 2019 will go directly to the SPCA of Texas’ programs that address the serious loose animal and animal overpopulation issues in Dallas. In particular, Paws Cause raises funds for the following programs:

  • The Mary Spencer Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic at Village Fair strategically located in Southern Dallas providing low cost medical services as well as anchoring the overall Southern Dallas effort.
  • The SPCA of Texas' Kivo Mobile Clinics, which are targeting underserved neighborhoods each week and providing free spay/neuter surgeries and wellness care to residents in 23 Southern Dallas zip codes. The Mobile Vehicles help communities at risk due to animal overpopulation as well as providing assistance to the elderly or citizens with transportation challenges.
  • Community Pet Program with “boots on the ground” door to door contact educating local residents as to the benefits of humane animal stewardship, as well as distributing pet food and supplies to pet owners needing assistance.
  • Free and low-cost Spay/Neuter and wellness service to the neediest communities, including monthly community wellness events offering free vaccinations, flea/tick preventative and microchips to residents in the community, helping keep pets in homes, off the streets and out of shelters.

Programs and initiatives as ambitious and far-reaching as these not only encourage the health and humane treatment of animals but also serve to make our communities a better place.
Paws Cause 2019 is sure to be a tail-wagging success thanks to Honorary Chair Ann Horton Marcus, Chair Susie Swanson, Bone Appétit Chair Giana dePaul and the Host and Event Committees.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
