SPCA of Texas is Competing in the 2018 Brackets For Good Tournament Score Points to Help the SPCA of Texas Win $10,000

(DALLAS, TX); February 28, 2018
— The SPCA of Texas has been selected from more than 2,128 charitable organizations across the country to compete in Brackets For Good 2018. Starting Friday, March 2, the SPCA of Texas will rally supporters to advance in an online single-elimination bracket-style fundraising tournament with a grand prize of $10,000.

The SPCA of Texas is the leading animal welfare organization in North Texas, operating two shelters, three spay/neuter clinics, two mobile spay/neuter clinics, a mobile adoptions unit and an animal rescue center in Dallas and Collin Counties. The non-profit organization relies on donations to fund all of its lifesaving missions and programs.

Each year, the SPCA of Texas helps rescue, rehabilitate and rehome thousands of pets in North Texas and beyond. The SPCA of Texas also provides an array of resources to help pet owners, working to keep pets out of shelters, off the streets and in homes. Financial support allows the SPCA of Texas to continue its mission to provide every animal exceptional care and a loving home.
“Giving to the SPCA of Texas helps our organization rescue, heal and find homes for tens of thousands of animals each year,” said James Bias, SPCA of Texas President and CEO. “Giving to the SPCA of Texas in an investment, as $.86 of every dollar is spent directly for animal care, programs and pet and people services right here in our community.”

Indianapolis-based Brackets For Good pairs with corporate and nonprofit sponsors to host online bracket-style fundraising tournaments in philanthropic communities around the United States. Brackets for Good has raised more than $6.4 million for charitable nonprofits since its 2012 kick-off contest in Indianapolis.

Participating nonprofits rally enthusiastic donors to out-fundraise their opponents in order to advance. Through the excitement, localized marketing and corporate involvement, nonprofits earn increased exposure, gain access to free fundraising tools, and are introduced to new donors. Dollars from donors translate to points, giving participants the opportunity to advance in each markets’ bracket. Competing nonprofits keep donations received during tournament play, no matter how many rounds they advance. The winning organization in each tournament receives an additional championship grant.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
