Party with Piggies in the Parking Lot

$74.99 Guinea Pigs and Starter Kits on March 31 Only

WHAT: Small, furry and adorable Guinea Pigs have taken over at the SPCA of Texas! This Friday, March 31st, the SPCA of Texas is having a party with Piggies in the Parking Lot. For only $74.99, you can take home a Guinea Pig along with all of the supplies you need for your new friend, including a small mammal cage, bedding, a water bottle and food. If you already have the supplies you need, you may adopt a Guinea Pig for only $5. The Piggies in the Parking Lot adoption event will be offered at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in West Dallas only. All Guinea Pigs have received an initial health evalutation and an overall wellness examination from a veterinarian.

Guinea Pigs make great companions for both children and adults. Due to their small size and ease of care, they are perfect for apartment living as well as classrooms. When you adopt a shelter pet, you’ll save a life by giving your new pet a home plus open up space for another pet at the SPCA of Texas. Adoption hours at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas are noon to 6 p.m on Sundays through Wednesday and noon to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

WHEN: Friday, March 31st, 2017 from Noon to 7 p.m.

     * Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center
        2400 Lone Star Drive
        Dallas, TX 75212

WHY: Guinea Pigs are wonderful, easy to care for pets that can bring a lot of joy to the whole family. They can help children learn the responsibility of caring for a pet and put smiles on the faces of people of all ages.

SPCA of Texas Voices

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
