SPCA OF TEXAS, DUCK TEAM 6, CITY SQUARE HOST FREE COMMUNITY WELLNESS EVENT SATURDAY AT CITY SQUARE IN DALLAS

 


WHAT:
 The SPCA of Texas, in partnership with Duck Team 6 and City Square, will host a Free Community Wellness Event on Saturday, February 25 from 8 a.m. to Noon at City Square at 511 N. Akard Street in Dallas. The event will provide free vaccinations--including rabies, DHPP and Bordetella for dogs and FVRCP for cats--as well as microchips and a brief wellness exam for pets of people living in South Dallas.


The event is first come, first served, with no appointment required. Pets that that need spay or neuter surgery or further medical attention will receive appointments with the SPCA of Texas for free or subsidized additional veterinary care.

COST: Free for pets of people living in South Dallas.

HOW: Pets will be seen on a first come, first served basis.

WHY:  The objective is to examine and vaccinate 300 pets per event and to sign up unaltered pets for a free spay or neuter surgery. The goal for the overall community outreach component in the South Dallas Pet Initiative is to establish the trust needed within our target communities in order to execute the following steps of spaying and neutering, offering preventive care and providing people with contact to the SPCA of Texas' Pet Resource Center.
