The rabbits were found outside living in cruelly confined cages filled with feces and debris and little to no access to food, water or protection from the elements. The dogs were found roaming freely indoors. The ferrets and birds were found living in separate cages inside the residence.

The animals appear to have varying health issues, including malnourishment, hair loss, long nails and flea infestation.
The Pottsboro Police Department called the SPCA of Texas regarding the animals' conditions on Friday, June 16. An SPCA of Texas Animal Cruelty Investigator visited the property on Friday evening and concurred that it was in the animals' best interest to remove them and sought a seizure warrant. The SPCA of Texas, the Pottsboro Police Department and the Grayson County Sheriff's Office obtained the warrant on Friday evening and served the warrant the following morning.

The custody hearing will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. at 101 W. Woodart St., Denison, TX 75021, Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2, the Honorable David Hawly presiding.

"I'm absolutely in LOVE with Kitty (formerly Kaleigh). I know her name isn't original at all but I just started calling her that until I could think of a name and it just stuck - it's so her! I've attached two photos - she's seriously the most beautiful kitty in the world! She loves to steal tennis balls and bones from her dog sister - she thinks she's a dog! She enjoys going for walks and car rides, snuggling with mom, bird watching, drinking from the sink, playing with her pipe cleaners and getting into mom's makeup in the mornings. I couldn't 'imagine life without her. She's the absolute best!"
