This dapper gentleman is Ned. He can be shy at first but he is just a curious boy that may need some time to adjust to new environments. He warms up quickly! Very calm and friendly with other dogs and could easily be a great sibling for another adult dog in need of one! Or even a puppy that wants an older role model and friend to learn great manners from!FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: I took Ned out to the park and then to a nearby nursing home. When I picked him up from the shelter, he was so excited for a day out. He greeted me with a big smile and lots of tail wagging. He jumped right into the car and rode well in the backseat. When we got to the park, he jumped right out. At the park, he enjoyed strolling along the bridge and he has a quick gait - don't be fooled by his 7 years of age! It was adorable because he had a smile on his face throughout the walk. He does stop periodically to smell things along the route and pulls some on the leash, but overall he's great on a walk. He was just so excited to be out enjoying the breeze and sunshine!After walking at the park, we hopped back into the car and visited a local nursing home. They ADORED him! The residents kept commenting on how beautiful, calm, and friendly he is. He walked up to all the residents that came to the common room and let them pet him. He enjoyed the attention and at one point did a happy tap dance, ha! Toward the end of the visit, he laid down on the floor next to me to relax. He clearly felt very comfortable and is a social dog. She did well with the crowds at the Ice House when stopping for water but her favorite place was discovering ducks at the park. Hi, I'm Chata! Just recently, I attended the Mardi Gra parade in Dallas, and I had a blast! While I was there, I got a chance to hang out with some of my dog friends from the shelter, including some new dog friends we met along the parade route. I had a great time saying hi to lots of people and was thrilled to receive as many treats as they would give me. I'm a bit of a puller on leash, but I mellow out after I've had a chance to burn some energy. Although it's not guaranteed that I'm potty trained, I have a tendency to keep my kennel clean. So, starting me on crate training when I get home should be a smooth transition. Overall, I'm a very social girl with lots of love to give my new family. I am looking for a home that can give me tons of love and TLC.Side note - Though it's true that I am fantastic with other dogs and while I did great interacting with kiddos at the parade, my friends at the shelter suggest that I meet the whole family to be sure we are a great fit. She listened well to us and to our dog to learn to navigate the busy sidewalks and had a great time. Overall, Sunny Side is a great dog. She went out for a day in our Borrow-A-Buddy program - here is what her foster mom said about her: We started the day with a meet and greet with our dog and they both got to play before we headed out to lunch at community brewery. Sunny side got to meet a lot of people and enjoyed some treats while we were there. Afterwards we headed to the park for a walk. She did well in new environments, car rides and meeting and playing with new dogs. ABOUT ME: Hiya, friends! Do you need a little pick-me-up? I'm your girl! My name is Coffee and just like your morning cup of joe, I'm sure to make any morning better... or any time of day really! I am a 3 year old Malinois so please do your research on the breed before meeting me. I do like being on furniture so hopefully you won't mind. NOTE: I do well in a crate and prefer to be in one if left alone. If you're a work from home person, I will stay by your feet and not leave your desk area. If dogs are allowed at your work, I'm a great travel companion and would be a great office dog. My foster home has 3 other large dogs I get along with (especially the younger playful GSD). I have explored Katy Trail in Dallas, walked around Reverchon Park, and stayed in down position during lunch with friends. My foster is working on manners and I do great walking beside you, sit, down, place, come, heel, load up, crate, and more. I can be very timid in new environments and probably didn't get out as much as a younger pup. I'm not very confident in new places, but with someone to guide me, I'll go anywhere with you. HOME REQUIREMENTS: I Need a home with a securely-fenced yard. The fencing should be at least 6ft tall and wooden- I have hops! KIDS: No kiddos under 5 please. I'd do better with older kids who can give me time to warm up to them! Please bring kids ages 6-11 to meet me. In foster, I did meet 5 kiddos at a car dealership during an oil change, and with proper introductions, I received a lot of attention. DOGS: I prefer larger friends (at least 30 pounds). A pup who will give me space at first will probably be best. Making new friends can be a little nerve-wracking! It may take a few days for me to warm up since I can be a little insecure at first, but with the right dog, we will be playing and roughhousing like puppies. Please bring them in to meet first so we can see if we are a great match. OTHER ANIMALS: No small animals for me thanks! Although, I do ignore the chickens at my foster home. When encountering other dogs, Max seemed curious at times and indifferent at others. However, he did not bark or pull in order to get closer to any furry friends. We took him to a couple coffee shops where he sat outside and waited patiently for a treat or a lick of whip cream. He was pretty low maintenance!
