Planned Giving

Animals are part of your life. Make them part of your legacy.

There are several ways to make a legacy gift to the SPCA of Texas that will provide the foundational support to continue our mission far into the future. Notify us you have included the SPCA of Texas in your will, and you automatically become a member of the Legacy Society.

A charitable gift from your estate through your will is called a bequest. By specifying a dollar amount or percentage of money, you may be able to receive a federal estate tax charitable deduction. Click here to create your will with Freewill.

The SPCA of Texas only accepts gifts of publicly traded stock. Stocks and bonds will be sold as soon as practical. A gift of appreciated stock or bonds will allow you the same tax savings as a cash gift but with the added benefit of eliminating capital gains taxes on the transfer. Please consult with your financial advisor or attorney for details. Contact Jennifer McGranaghan at JMcGranaghan@spca.org or 214-461-1838 for information on transfers.

Name the SPCA of Texas as a beneficiary of your retirement plan assets, life insurance policy, or bank account(s). Tax ID: 75-1216660

The trust is invested to pay an income to you or any other trust beneficiaries you select based on a life, lives or a term of up to 20 years. SPCA of Texas benefits from what remains in the trust after all the trust payments have been made.

Please consult with your financial advisor or attorney for details.

You fund a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and make charitable gift recommendations during your lifetime. When you pass away, your children can carry on your legacy of giving.

Please consult with your financial advisor or attorney for details.

Donating part or all your unused retirement assets, such as a gift from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan, is an excellent way to make a gift to SPCA of Texas.

Please consult with your financial advisor or attorney for details.

To make a gift of stock and bonds, please do so by electronic transfer. Contact Jennifer McGranaghan at JMcGranaghan@spca.org or 214-461-1838 for instructions on transferring from your brokerage or investment account to the SPCA of Texas.

If you are 70½ years of age or older and are interested in making a gift directly to the SPCA of Texas through your IRA account, you may be able to transfer up to $100,000 annually without having to recognize the distribution as income.
