185 Abused Animals on the Road to Recovery.

You Can Help Today.

Donate Today to Help the AnimalsWonderful news! Today, we’re thrilled to announce that a judge has awarded custody of all 185 abused animals rescued last Sunday to the SPCA of Texas. And they’ll never be cold, hungry or filthy again thanks to your help!

You’ve heard their stories, you’ve seen the unthinkable conditions from which they were rescued.  Now, we’re finally able to start the process of finding loving homes for these animals.

These animals STILL need your support. Please help the SPCA of Texas provide the nutritious food and excellent medical care that they continue to need as well as treatment for internal parasites like heartworms.

You can help support these animals and the SPCA of Texas' other programs and services by making a gift today.

The first day some of these animals will be available for adoption is Friday, February 6 at noon at both SPCA of Texas shelters. The other animals will be individually evaluated for potential adoption or placement on a case by case basis in the coming days and weeks. To see them as they become available, please visit our online Adoptable Pet Gallery regularly. Together, we’ll find homes for these deserving animals.

The SPCA of Texas answered the call for help. You can help today by supporting the SPCA of Texas.

 185 Abused Animals Rescued.

You can help today.

Donate Today to Help the AnimalsImagine being cold, hungry and filthy. The wounded, haunted look in your eyes isn’t getting the attention of the people who are supposed to be caring for you but aren’t, so you can’t tell them just how much you’re hurting. Worst of all, you can’t pick up the phone and call for help.

But one wonderful day, the call went out just the same and people who do care came to the rescue of a Basset Hound named Shirley, a goat named Billie, a turkey named Tom and 182 others.

The SPCA of Texas answered that call, seizing the 185 abused animals from a property in Van Zandt County under the authority of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department.

Although those 185 abused animals survived their terrible ordeal, over 70 did not.
