Fur Ball 2008 Disco for the Dogs
Celebrating 70 Years of the SPCA of Texas

Over 650 people attended the SPCA of Texas’ 70th Anniversary Gala, the Hill’s Science Diet Fur Ball 2008 Disco for the Dogs on Saturday, September 27 at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. The evening consisted of a three course dinner, a live auction and entertainment by comedian Dave Little. A silent auction of nine beautiful pet beds designed by David Sutherland was also held in conjunction with the event. 

The Voice of the SPCA of Texas Award was presented to Mr. Ron Chapman, the most listened to radio personality in the history of the southwest. We thank Mr. Chapman for lending a voice to the voiceless.

The 2008 Community Leadership Award recipients were Mrs. Phoebe Perry and Dr. Thelbert “Bert” E. Childers, DVM. Thank you, Mrs. Perry and Dr. Childers, for your tireless dedication to the animals and support of the SPCA of Texas.

Master of Ceremonies, Debbie Denmon of WFAA, hosted the fun-filled evening and attendees boogied the night away to the funky beats laid down by All Funk Radio Show.
