Know the Truth Behind the Cute
If all signs told you the sweet puppy you were about to buy was bred in terrible conditions in a puppy mill, and that your money would be used to continue a cruel, brutal and inhumane cycle, would you still buy her?
Puppy mill owners can be deceptive. They create convincing websites, take on friendly demeanors and excel at conning people into believing they are legitimate, caring breeders. But the truth is that many are simply in it for profit, abusing animals to further their gain.
The real problem is that people continue to purchase puppy mill dogs, not out of malice, but simply because they don't know where the puppy they bought comes from, and often out of kindness. They unwillingly or unknowingly support a vicious industry. The SPCA of Texas believes that, once educated about the effects of their purchases and the tactics puppy mills use to deceive them, people will actively seek out better ways to find their forever friend.
The SPCA of Texas will fight that deception with education and arm North Texas with information so that they can fight the cruelty of puppy mills by ceasing to get their pets from puppy mills and adopting their pets instead.
Stop the cycle. Know the truth behind the cute.
