SPCA of Texas Volunteer Program

SPCA of Texas Volunteers give their hearts, their time and their all to make every day special for the pets waiting for homes. Volunteers help the SPCA of Texas fulfill our mission by assisting us in many ways.

Individuals interested in becoming regular SPCA of Texas volunteers on an ongoing basis should use this application. All volunteers are required to be 18 years of age or older. If you are between the ages of 12 and 17, you may volunteer with a parent or legal guardian if he or she also becomes a volunteer and attends with you.

Volunteer Opportunities

All volunteers are required to be 18 years of age or older. If you are between 12 and 17, you may volunteer if a parent or legal guardian becomes a volunteer and attends with you. A volunteer department staff member will contact you and send a schedule for the next available orientation.

All volunteer positions begin in Animal Ambassador I. A time commitment of 20 hours is required within three months of the volunteer orientation. Once the 20-hour time commitment is fulfilled a volunteer can attend Animal Handling Training for direct animal interaction. 30 hours of animal handling is required to move to other program areas.
